Two new t-shirt designs, both with a Severing Sanguine rainbow graphic I made and am super happy with how it turned out! The first variation just has the graphic on the front, but the other one? Oh boy, ALL OVER RAINBOW!! This is my first all-over-print shirt that I've made, and let's be honest, it's gonna be perfect for pride lol. Unfortunately the print company literally charges double for all-over prints but whatever it's worth it!
I also have started making tank shirts too for men, women, and unisex and also a women's crop top. I'm going to eventually expand all the t-shirts to have a tank shirt option since it's bloody hot in a lot of places right now! And once winter comes along, I'll be adding long sleeves too.

You've screamed for them and I listened! After a lot of hard work there are now Fallocaust t-shirts available in the FalloShop! http://www.quilcarter.com/thefalloshop. There are shirts for every Fallocaust book, not just with designs based around the cover art, but some original designs I made as well. I also have t-shirts with cartoons I personally did (like the famed King Biff) and also, ah, I made a few t-shirts based around a 'Finish Drawing the Cat' facebook post that I took part in because for some reason the resulting cats just enchanted me and I thought they'd make a good t-shirt and whatever my shirts my rules!
New designs will be added as I make them too, and also new clothing lines too. So far I have mens, womens, and unisex, most are one sided but I have some double-sided t-shirts as well, and a lot of different colour options too. I've personally tested out the graphics on the men's t-shirts and the shirt quality is amazing. Like it's going to last you a while! The colours have all turned out great too.
The FalloShop itself has also gone through a bit of a revamp. There is now a separate page for normal Quil Carter merch and Quil Carter t-shirts. This is because I'm going to be shipping out the merch myself as usual, whereas the shirts are a print on demand sort of thing.
I did have to mess with the shipping though. The company I went with will charge me for the shipping so I'm responsible to take care of that on my end. The issue with that is squarespace doesn't let me charge a different shipping rate for each item, it only lets me create a different shipping option once you're in the check out. So that means... for the love of god please don't buy merch and t-shirts in the same order! In the checkout there will be a 'merch only' option and a 't-shirt only' option (I put all this in the FalloShop's new main page and separated the two to make it less confusing but all items will end up in the same cart. If you want both all you have to do is just make two separate orders). And also, shipping for the t-shirts is only 2 bucks and then a buck per item for US and Canada (but I/we ship worldwide), the rest of the shipping cost the company charges me (since it's more than that) has been put into the cost of the shirt. Sound complicated and confusing? It was for me too, thank squarespace for that!
I've had a lot of fun making these t-shirts and I really look forward to making more in the future. I also want to eventually expand to long sleeve t-shirts, tanks, crop tops, all that sort of thing, and branch out even further and get some blankets going, bags, stationary, whatever I think will look cool!

Soooo I know this is super premature, and something could go wrong between now and once they're finally up for sale, but I'm too excited because I love how they've been turning out so far... Fallocaust t-shirts are coming! So far I've finished my designs for Fallocaust Book 1, Breaking Jade, The Ghost and the Darkness Vol. 1. Severing Sanguine, and A God Among Insects Vol. 1, 2, and 3. Before I put in my first review order (so I can make sure the quality is good before I put them up for sale), I want to have one t-shirt for each book and I'm well on my way to getting that done.
I always knew the covers would make awesome t-shirts and seeing the mock-ups have proven that. The company I'm going with has a lot of options too so not only will there be mens and womens t-shirts but I also want to get long sleeve ones, hoodies, maybe even hats, phone cases, face masks, bags, backpacks, whatever I can make look cool! Right now, I want to have the cover images with some text, either the name of the book or a quote, but also t-shirts with just the cover image alone with some light editing to make the borders not as visible since the cover images look awesome on their own. Currently, there's only stuff on the front but eventually I'm going to make use of the t-shirt's back as well. They charge like 7 bucks extra for this though so I want to wait until I have some good designs before I utilize it.
So, all this is still in the design stage, but I've started working on it and I'm planning on putting the review order in tonight or tomorrow, basically once I'm done the rest of the designs. I'm not sure how long it'll take to print and send them out, but if I get them and the quality is good, they'll be available in the FalloShop.
And also, since my twitch stream has spanned a few memes (such instant classics as Dick University and Bork Store) I'm going to eventually have a merch store for my Twitch channel too. A store front comes free with the OBS premium thing I got so fuck it, might as well.

I had been receiving requests for The Gods' Games merch and I finally got some made! Now in stock, a The Mirror Prophecies bookmark, one side being TMP Vol. 1's cover and the other is Vol. 2's, and I also got magnets made of both covers also, and a new sticker which is of A God Among Insects Vol. 3's cover!

I also had an idea that I was thinking of pulling the trigger on. Over the years I have accumulated a bunch of physical books in my home that are lovely but they either have an older cover jacket, the cover image is too dark or the text is a bit different or there's some sort of mistake, or they have more editing mistakes than the newer ones due to them just being older versions, or have been personally used by me so they're a bit beat up, basically... they're what I'll be calling "Broken but I Can Still Make You Happy" books lol. I can't bear to throw these guys out, so I was thinking of making them into an appealing sort of collector's edition and putting them up for sale. Basically, I'd have some fun with my drawing and colouring skills and draw some characters in the title page inside, maybe write a few notes in them or comments, sign them too of course, just customize them a bit. These guys won't be cheap, mainly because it costs like 30 bucks alone for shipping to mail them to the US (Europe's cost is even scarier lol) and then we have the book costs to add to that, but you'll get a one of a kind book, drawn in and signed by me, and I'd get to give an old book a good home and free up some space in my house. Anyone interested in something like that? I'd basically put them up for sale

I finally get to hold my latest baby
Finally! After everyone else getting to hold my latest baby, my shipment of The Mirror Prophecies Vol. 2, finally came in the mail! It looks just as beautiful as I thought it would. It's so great to finally see both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 together in one big giant tome. I couldn't be happier with how they turned out in every conceivable way. It was exhausting work but I find myself already wanting to venture back into Elron so I can keep telling Ben, Teal, and Malagant's story, and Elron's story too for that matter.
Look at em! Don't they just look so pretty! They add some nice colour to my bookshelf too, a little bit of red and blue to break up the black and white. And my stack of books on my coffee table continues to get bigger. I joked that eventually it would snap the glass of my coffee table in half and now I'm pretty sure we're almost at that point lol.
Hopefully by the time I'm ready to get a Garden of Spiders 2 proof Amazon will be mailing them to Canada again lol. Until then, at least I have some signed copies to mail to my lovely beta readers and the amazing Christina who designs the cover jackets for the physical books, and also some copies to give away for the Patreon raffles too.

Twitch streaming!
Hey Everyone!
So, I got a cool announcement. I've been streaming on Twitch more often than my previous 'one a year maybe' schedule. I've been doing 2 to 3 hour streams a few times a week in between writing stints. I've found it's been a great way for me to unwind a bit, force myself to slow down, and meet and talk to some of my readers while gaming. I stream at night, and I've been mainly playing horror games (Currently playing Little Nightmares 2 again, then moving on to Amnesia which I've never played before). So anyone who wants to follow me and pop in and say hi, I'll be there. I'm always up for answering Fallocaust questions in between copious amounts of swearing, and if enough people are there I can always read a bit or even read a few paragraphs of whatever I'm working on. I also still have the questions from the AMA I requested questions for, so I could also finally answer those lol.

It's here and it's beautiful! Even though, like with Vol. 1, you'll find out before I do lol Amazon has once again stopped shipping proofs to authors in Canada so I had to enlist the help of my lovely friend, and girl-version of me: Seren who I shipped the proof to. From the photos I've seen, it looks absolutely amazing! And it can be all yours!
It's also the first time I've used this colour pallet, my very first blue-silvery cover and I can't wait to see how it looks in my bookshelf.

I know teenage Quil would've been proud to see the series that he started continue on. I love these elf boys and the world around them, and I can't wait to share the newest chapter in their journey with everyone. I love how The Mirror Prophecies turned out, it's full of adventure, hilarious moments, romance, danger, and of course, creepy fucking shit. It is a Quil book after all.

And because of Covid, this physical book was a pain in the ass to get out and I actually haven't even held it in my own hands yet. Amazon isn't shipping books to authors in Canada right now, so not only have I not been able to replenish my own stocks for Patreon raffle rewards (so everyone has been getting a nice mishmash of what I still have in stock lol) but I haven't been able to order any proofs myself.
But never fear, Seren the wonderful is here. I got TGG 2 V1's proof mailed to her and she was able to take photos for me so i could look it over and make sure everything was okay. Everything looked great, so now my baby is out in the world waiting for a new home. Funny how you guys will be getting this book before I do lol but hopefully Amazon lifts the restrictions soon.
As you can see, much like I had to do with TGG 1, the gold text on the cover had to be changed to white. This is because the gold text looked god awful on Amazon's book printer back when I was doing TGG 1's physical books. Now, it seems like Amazon may have gotten new printers because it looks like they've fixed a problem where the covers would always print dark but I don't want to fuck with it right now, but I'll test it out in the future. I want to also test it out on Fallocaust's covers since I always had to manually lighten them up and if I can get away with not doing that the covers will look much better.
Until then, here it is! It's a big fucker, and I can't wait until volume 2 joins it.
I also want to thank Christina who created the cover jacket and the back cover. She's been making the book jackets look amazing since the beginning and I appreciate her so much!
Oh and I know I don't have to say this (or I hope I don't lol) but the books will not come with the 'not for resale' ugly ass ribbon. I used to save a lot of money back when createspace was doing the physical books since all they did was put a page saying PROOF at the very back which I could easily take out or ignore, this saved me a lot of money since author copies were cheaper than the discount they default give authors. Stupid amazon.

My baby has been pushed out of the nest. I hope you guys enjoy volume 1. It's been wonderful being back in the world of Elron with Ben, Teal, and Malagant. I love those boys, just like I love Erick, Sweeny, Anagin, and Josiah, and of course all the new characters that will be making their introductions.
This was a fun book to work on, but of course a challenge since the world of Elron is so huge and constantly getting bigger as I expand on the different kingdoms, races, and cultures. And not even just Elron, we now have Shol too. Writing the hell realm of Elron was fun as well, but everyone who knows my books will not be surprised at that.

This is a big volume 1, and because of that once the physical book is out it'll have to be in font that's like .5 of a point smaller, but I'll make it work somehow. And after this, I'm hopeful that Volume 2 won't be too far behind.

Update and Patreon Peddling
Hey Everyone!
So, I have a few updates that I’ll be throwing at you all, but it’s too many to put in one post so I’m going to break them up into two days. I have some big plans for 2020 when it comes with the books, and that coupled with some pretty big plans for me in my personal life it’s going to be a busy, and hopefully awesome, 2020.
The first update is with The Gods’ Games Book 2. Editing is going well. It’s slower going this time due to a different way I am editing. As legend goes (and I’ve mentioned it enough times lol) editing A God Among Insects was super fucking hard on me. I was already tapped out just from writing it but editing was brutal. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be and besides my beta readers who read through it and point out any typos/continuity/what-have-you they find, all of this is on my shoulders. I pushed myself way too hard and the frustrating part was that it could’ve been a bit easier on me if I just had taken better notes.
So this time around, I’m not just reading through once, panicking a week before release because it’s not up to my standards, then staying up for days on end reading through it over and over as I slowly go insane (luckily, AGAI was the first time this happened). Nope! This time around I’m reading through each individual chapter three times, the first time just a normal edit, the second is for meticulous note taking, and the third to make sure it still all makes sense with the changes I made, with some more editing and note taking on the side. I’m really loving this new way of doing it because I feel like not only am I helping Future Quil with these nice notes, but the content is better since I’m spending more time on each chapter and adding/tweaking more. So, editing is taking more time but the end result is a better book and I’m excited as shit to apply this method to The Fallocaust Series too. I’m also planning on reading through all of the Fallocaust books while writing Garden of Spiders 2 as well with this method (to help with GOS 2 and to prep for Book 5), which means future Amazon updates will be available that will have any typos I missed taken care of.
Okay, onto the Patreon Peddling!
My Patreon has been a lifesaver for me in the past few years and has helped keep me floating. These one-time tiers are not monthly rewards, but a one-time purchase that offer two pretty neat things: The first one is something I offered a couple years ago as a prize during one of my author friend’s release day party, and it was a huge hit. Basically, you tell me about someone that you absolutely hate, whether it be an ex-boyfriend/girlfriend, a childhood bully, or a celebrity (I of course will have to change the name a bit lol) and in an upcoming book (this one is for Garden of Spiders 2) I will write a small role for them… and then brutally fucking murder them. The first time I did this was in A God Among Insects and the character was horrifically killed by none other than Malachy in Candyland. Now it ain’t cheap and there’s only two of these available per book. So, if you have the funds, want to help me out, and you have someone in mind that you want to suffer a horrible, torturous book death, this might be something to consider! (Also, you can just forgo Patreon and do this via PayPal since Patreon does love to take their cut).
The second one is my ‘Write Monkey Write’ reward. It’s where I’ll write you a short story of your choice featuring whatever characters you want. There are some rules, nothing that will be in future books, no spoilers, nothing gross like m-preg or straight stuff of course. It can be as insane as you want (like all the Fallocaust characters are suddenly ducks), or even something simple like ‘A Day in the Life of Ellis’. I can put it up on my website or you can keep it for yourself. I’ll still own it so you can’t like sell it or anything lol but I’ll be your writing monkey and you can use me like the dog I am. As for my book updates I am currently editing The Gods' Games Book 2: Rise of the Stillborn God (working title may change) and I'm hoping to have a release day announcement and cover reveal in the next couple months. I've been editing this book a bit different since note taking has always been my downfall and I always feel like I could be doing a better job going through each chapter. So, instead of going over the entire book twice, I'm now going over each individual chapter three times, then doing another last run through of the book after the beta readers get it. That means editing takes longer, but me spending more time on each chapter has been great for improving the books content. This is going to make the Fallocaust books much easier to edit too and will all-around lead to a happier author and even better books!

The Gods' Games Book 2 is all finished! <3
Hey Everyone,
The Gods' Games Book 2 is completed! Well, it's pretty much completed, over the years I've realized that I'm always rewriting the ending anyway after the first editing sweep so I just say fuck it and leave it now. Everything else besides that is done and now it's on to the painful editing process, which always seems to be so much more of a pain in the ass than actual writing lol.
But it's all done, and after it's edited and beta read and made all fancy it'll be ready for consumption. I know I always say this, but I love how this book turned out. As the story goes, I first started writing TGG (or the original form of it since it changed a lot over the years) when i was 14, and after that, I'd come back to it every few years and write a bit, or rewrite a bit, until I overhauled it in my early 20s then completely overhauled it a few years ago. During this time, I always had an idea as to what book 2 would look like, and most importantly, how it would end. Lots of things have changed, but the core of it is the same and I love how the characters have progressed, how the world of Elron has opened up, and I really love where book 2 is going to leave off.
If you haven't started reading The Gods' Games yet, now is a perfect time to do so, and a perfect time to re-read it and freshen yourself up. It's a solid book, and even if you're iffy about fantasy (or, well, dark fantasy in my case) you'll love it. It has the Quil style to it, all the main characters are gay but that's not their identity, just a wonderful perk, the world of Elron is my creation as is all the elves, demi-elves, demons (or demenos rather), mages, dragons, and the kingdoms, holds, towns, and of course the fucked up hellscape realm called Shol which the main character lovingly refers to as "Elf Hell'.
Besides that, things are going good on my end. My health has been great (which is surprising since it's winter but we've had a pretty mild winter here so far. No snow yet though), and even though the thought of it makes me tired I might be moving in a few months. You guys want me to move considering the only reason I haven't been able to bust through some audio books is due to not having a small place to record that will give me good acoustics, and the new place will have that (since I'll have space to put all this shit in my closet). I also am working on adding a few new one-time tiers to Patreon (one is already up) and offering some neat perks like my Twitch stream so whoever wants to hang out with me as I curse at my TV can do so, and I can do some sort of bastardized Ask Me Anything too. This book was a bit of a pain in the ass to get into print (Blame amazon) but it's finally here. Actually, it was available over a week ago but I got sick, and then once I was recovered I completely forgot, then once I remembered I said to myself "I'll get the posts out once I'm not so tired." Then four days later I remembered that I'm tired all the time lol. But it's here and it's beautiful. It's so tiny too compared to some of the mammoths! Or tiny for me anyway (that's what he said).
An update on what I'm doing: Still writing away on The Gods' Games, but I'm on the last leg of it. I've been having a lot of fun with this book. There is a Lelan storyline I have been writing in it, which has allowed me to expand on some familliar characters, and add some new ones as well that you've only heard of in the previous book (not to mention expand on the world as a whole). Also, we get to see Shol finally, in all its horrific glory, and there's more than a couple new characters in there that I fantasize about regularly. Hopefully I will be finished it soon, then it's on to the dreaded editing.

I usually make this post later in the day (when I'm awake and conscious enough to do things) but I might as well do it now before I drag my ass off to bed.
My first short stories book is out and live, and ready to be consumed. I hope everyone enjoys it, and that it tides them over until book 4's companion book is released. It was a lot of fun writing these short stories. I was able to get creative and basically do whatever I wanted with a few of those stories and that was definitely both fun and freeing. This won't be the last short story book and I look forward to coming up with new crazy ideas in the future.

So, it has been over a year since I’ve made a post about it since I always shy away from such things because I feel bad doing it, but I’ve been told to suck it up and do it anyway (by a few people lol). I wanted to make a post about my Patreon page that I have up: https://www.patreon.com/quilcarter. It’s basically to help keep my ass out of the poor house, especially with summer coming up which is murder for authors (all those people outside being ‘social’ and having ‘lives’ and having fun with ‘nature’ instead of being indoors reading like they should!). I have a lot of different rewards for different tiers including getting a thank you card from me (not just a store bought one but one I made myself and got copies made), and Fallocaust merchandise like magnets, bookmarks, stickers, and the coolest one: The top tier will have me hand-drawing you a book character of your choosing, and I even got gifted some fancy markers and fancy papers so it’ll be a pretty nice drawing as well. I also currently hold book raffles for signed books (it should be once a month but it usually ends up being two names every two months). There are also tiers to get your name in the ‘Note from Quil’ section of my latest book as well, and I’m thinking of a few more one time rewards as well (like the ‘Quil is your Slave’ reward where I’ll write you a short story of your choosing. Or something similar to a contest I held a few years ago where you give me the name of someone you hate in your life and I’ll make them into a character and kill them gruesomly in my next book. There’s a certain TV news guy who met a horrible end in Candyland). And sometimes I even give away an upcoming book a few days earlier.
As you can see I really try and make it worth your while if you do join. I also have had an Amazon wishlist up also. Which has on it such wonderful essentials like toilet paper, cat food, kitty litter, batteries, parmesan cheese, chilli, and boxer shorts… and some not essentials like pop and M&Ms since I’m a slut for soda and candy (it makes me write faster).
Anything and everything helps, and I appreciate so much all those who have become patreons, past and present, and everyone who has helped me via the wishlist (it’s like Christmas when I get a package delivered here. I won’t deny that I sometimes dance on the spot). Every cent from my patreon goes towards fun things like rent, bills, and food. I don’t drive, I don’t eat out, and I literally wore a pair of boxer shorts until they were ripped so bad the cloth was hanging half-off the waist band (Seren and Akash can vouche for this, they saw the picture lol), and I do all my clothes shopping once a year at a thrift store (though a very awesome person did buy me underware, socks, and shoes and I’ll love her forever for it. And I have gotten some hilarious and awesome t-shirts from my bestie). Being on my own since I was 17 taught me how to live as cheaply as possible, and I carried that with me throughout the years.
So, there we go, my yearly patreon post. I probably should do it more often but, yeah, I always feel bad about it. I appreciate you guys so much, you’re the best readers/fans/friends someone like me could hope for, and I do hope to continue throwing books at you for a very very long time. It’ll be less than a month until Fallocaust Short Stories comes out, and I know for sure you will all enjoy it.
